There is little sign of the US Open on the other side of the Grand Central Parkway. No flowers. No functioning fountains. No cleaning crews and few police. And, of course, few white folks. Just another day in the park with Thomas the Tank Engine for this child.

It is just another day with Percy for this child lying on the lip of an derelict fountain on the other side of the park.
